 Respite while on cruise?

Hi - We're seriously considering going on an Autism on the Sea with our 12 year old son, who has ASD. I was wondering if respite is provided on the cruise? Also, are there workshops for parents to attend on board as well?
Thank you!

On the cruises we have been on, my son has been able to participate in Adventure Ocean program which is a camp program on the cruise ship. Autism on the Seas also did a group session with Adventure Ocean where the kids had private time in the camp were we could leave them with staff. Also, the Autism on the Seas staff did sessions at night with the children were they watched a movie and play games and us parents went off and did are own thing.

Hi Jaki,

Just to elaborate on Heather's reply....

Cruise Line Children's Program
The Cruise Line Children's Program is open from 9:00AM until 10:00PM every day, which is included in your cruise. Some days they break for lunch and dinner. Late night is also available from 10:00PM to 1:00PM for a reasonable hourly fee. Many of our families who travel with us use the Cruise Line Children's Program quite frequently.

Private Cruise Line Children's Program time just for the "Autism on the Seas" children in our group
During times the Cruise Line Program is closed to the other guests onboard, we will have frequent PRIVATE Cruise Line Children's Program time, just for our children.

"Autism on the Seas" Respite time
Depending on the cruise (duration, itinerary, ship schedule, etc) we offer various times that allow you to drop your children off with us. These times are usually at night and sometimes in the afternoons.

Nightly In-Cabin Baby Sitting
In-cabin baby sitting is also available for an hourly fee. Either the childrens program staff, or expereinced staff board members are pooled as available. 24 hour notice is usually required.

Each of our families are issued a beeper, so either the Cruise Line Children's Staff or our Staff can contact you if needed.

Mike

PS
Some of these services, and/or the extent of these services, vary onboard the Disney Cruises.
